Gold prices traded flat ₹78,700 per 10 grams in major Indian cities in early trade on Tuesday, January 7, amid a lack of fresh triggers amid a rebound in the US dollar.
Some demand from jewellers supported the precious metal at its current level. In global markets, the metal moved in a tight range amid uncertainty over the tariff policy of the new Trump administration, which will take over on January 20.
The US dollar recovered some ground in early trade after Donald Trump rejected media reports over paring back tariffs.
Spot gold rose by 0.11% to $2,638 an ounce in early Asian trade. The metal moved in a tight range of $2,633 an ounce to $2,641 an ounce.
