Gold prices rebounded by ₹460 per 10 grams in major Indian cities on Tuesday following the rupee falling below 86 against the US dollar and firm global trends.
Gold of 24K traded above ₹80,000 per 10 grams in the early session as the precious metal gained in Asian trading hours.
The rupee sank to a record low of 86.7 against the US dollar, which bolstered gold prices. A cheaper rupee makes gold imports costlier.

Comparison of Gold and Silver Prices This Week
A pullback in US bond yields and the dollar has supported gold prices in global markets. A weak rupee also fuelled the prices, taking the metal above ₹80,000 per 10 grams in local markets for the first time since November’s first week.
Firm demand from industrial users and weak local currency has also helped silver cut losses and post-rebound despite lacklustre trade in global markets.
